Criticism to a Leader and Manager

Feedback and giving and receiving criticism must always be a consideration for leaders. A leader will present fine examples to show feedback to the followers. A leader will welcome the opportunity to give sound advice based on facts, and will enjoy talking freely to others, helping them to see how they too can unleash their leader in themselves.

A leader realizes that most times people are unwilling to listen to facts. Leaders realize that most people wander through life saying, “I don’t want to hear it.” Leaders are prepared to make these people listen and prepared to deal with the situation even if the outcome is unsuccessful. For instance, most people wander through life searching for fantasies to take them out of reality. A leader faces reality head on and finds a way to resolve the issues, big or small. A leader will protest assertively without feeling threatened of the outcomes. For instance, a leader will contact congress, the president, or other rulers to address issues regardless of the results. If the results turn up unfruitful the leader will not give up, rather the leader will continue to protest until something occurs from the problem. He must be prepared to receive and cope with much criticism.

One of the most frustrating things to me is those people that sit around complaining about World issues, yet they do nothing to find resolves to address the issues. These people are followers that have not unleashed their inner leadership qualities. They are controlled souls in society waiting for someone else to resolve their problems.

A leader is always prepared to deliver feedback and / or criticism without fear of consequences, while using their skills to do so. For instance, as a leader, I often debate with my son who believes he knows everything and I know nothing. He argues about every detail or conversation that comes up, and he is always right. Now, I could put this issue down and wait for better results, rather I point out facts that make him shut his mouth and think about what he is saying. For instance, the other day we argued about him using half a roll of toilet paper each time he goes to the bathroom. A person listening made him feel threatened; therefore, he called me a liar. I asked him if he would like for me to show him each time and the party listening how much tissue he uses at what time he goes to the bathroom. He shut up because he knew I could prove what I was saying about him. While this is a minor debate, many larger debates to the fore, however the issues are dealt with regardless of the magnitude of the problem.

Leaders welcome giving and receiving criticism. Leaders are aware that criticism, whether positive or negative, helps them to grow and learn. Leaders are not afraid to give positive criticism as well, and will do it skillfully while not concerning self with the results. For instance, a skillful leader will provide useful feedback and criticism by not judging others, not criticizing negatively, not accusing anybody, and the like. A true leader will always verify his facts.

Leaders will often help followers to see the larger picture. The leader will point toward visions that help this person to see. In other words, a leader will point out the overall picture while stressing consequences of the actions, words, behaviors, etc. For example, a leader will help someone see what could become of their actions by letting them preview their actions, words, behaviors, while leading to the results. If you go out in the road and play, you may want to consider what could happen to you by visualizing a car hitting you. Cars are dangerous products that can claim lives, and this is especially true if you put self in the cars way.
