Assertiveness and Leadership Qualities
Assertiveness Management
Asserting is a great tool that works to make you a leader in any area of life. Assertiveness means you will speak up at what time importance arrives at your door. Assertiveness also means that you will speak out in a tone that lets people know you are serious about what you have to say.
At the time that a person uses assertiveness he/she is on the road to employing leadership qualities into his life. Assertiveness management helps the person to move forward, by bringing other qualities such as confidence, self-assurance, self-esteem, and the like. All the tools we use to make us a whole is incorporated in assertiveness, which makes us a leader.
A true leader has the ability to command and to influence others. As you can see from the definition that a person able to lead others will dispose character qualities upfront in a bold manner while asserting confidence, and using them in union to make points by stating facts. Still, we want to consider aggressive actions and words, since this contrasts with assertiveness. If you are aggressive, it could only lead to failure in your goal to become a leader.
A true leader will have convictions in place as he/she addresses confrontations head on, by verifying his or her facts.
Leaders are aligned in their way of life and organized in their positions. Their thoughts, actions, words, duties, responsibilities, and the like are all in alignment and organized. Thus, a leader prepares.
True leaders have managerial skills and empowerment. The leader will provide official like authority, while keeping his legal role of moral guider in place. One example of managerial and empowering influences is seen in the women’s movement. This action took the self-actualization and influences to inspire others to act on their statements. As you can see, it brings in persistence, since leaders are persistent in what they intend to accomplish.
A true leader has interpersonal skills and an ability to trust self and the facts he or she presents. An interpersonal individual has the ability to assert self while interacting with people. Therefore, we see people skills are necessary to accomplish if you want quality leadership skills. The person learns to trust upon self what he or she desires to accomplish by using the assertiveness, research, resources, ideas and the like, joining to make a statement.
A true leader has the ability to deliver personal trustworthyness. This means at the time the person presents self and ideas, others will see that the person as confident and dependable. The logic brings assertiveness back into play.
As a person asserts self, he or she will use body signals to deliver messages. For instance, a person standing up straight with the back aligned in posture, while asserting information and the chest is out slightly, we see confidence.
Leaders will use experiences and wisdom to address each issue coming their way. Leaders do not depend on others to find facts; rather the person will gather his or her own facts and verify the information with workable evidence. For instance, if you stood on a stage telling people that John Denver is no longer with us, you would have pulled up newspaper clips and other information to show as visual aids to the audience so that they see you have done your footwork and verified the facts. While this is an easier example, it still shows the asserting leader as a trustworthy source and dependable character.
Overview
A leader will use assertion; have managerial skills that empower others to move. Leaders will not stop to gather information, they need to deliver facts. Leaders do not depend on others to do their work, rather they take pride in finding the facts themselves.
